Greg Ruskauff, INTERA's Modeling Manager for supporting environmental restoration efforts on the Underground Test Area (UGTA) Sub-Project at the Nevada Test Site (NTS), received special recognition from the National Nuclear Security Administration, Nevada Site Office for his lead effort in completing the draft Frenchman Flat Corrective Action Unit transport modeling report "on time and at a level of technical excellence that exceeded milestone requirements." The letter of recognition goes on to say that "he continues to play the integrating leadership role and provides technical vision for solving complex modeling problems that are crucial to successful execution of the overall UGTA CAU strategy." The UGTA Sub-Project involves using groundwater flow and transport models to define contaminant boundaries and design monitoring networks as part of the corrective action strategy to address subsurface contamination resulting from over 800 historical nuclear detonations that occurred in shafts or tunnels at the NTS.
